The registry

Every credential NBOP issues is checkable here, free, by anyone, forever. Holders choose whether to appear in search. They do not choose whether their credential can be verified.

Verifying a specific certificate number always works, including for holders who opted out of this directory, and including for credentials that have expired or been revoked. A credential you can hide from an employer is not a credential.

What this register is for

A certificate that only its holder can produce is worth very little to the person deciding whether to hire them. This register exists so that the claim can be checked by the party who actually needs to check it, without contacting us and without the holder's cooperation.

It is also, deliberately, a place for employers to look for operators. A credential that helps someone get hired is worth paying for. One that only proves something after the fact is not.

What we publish, and what we do not

• Name, certificate number, standard version, issue and expiry dates, and current status: always, for any credential looked up directly.
• Revocation reasons: always. An employer cannot tell an administrative lapse from misconduct unless we say which it was.
• Appearance in this search: the holder's choice, on by default.
• Per-domain scores: the holder's choice, off by default.
• Email addresses, employers, application contents, assessment answers: never.

A holder who has not published their domain breakdown is not hiding a bad result. It is off by default for everyone, and we say so on every record so that its absence carries no signal.
