This is the body of practice behind the first of the eight domains the board publishes. It is free, it is complete, and it is not preparation for anything. Take the diagnostic first. The lessons are answers, and answers are hard to hear before you have the question in your own words. Most operators need three or four of the fifteen. Every lesson teaches one instrument. Not an idea, an instrument. Something you can do this week and afterwards be able to tell whether it worked. If a lesson leaves you agreeing with it and unable to act on it, the lesson has failed, and you should say so. One thing worth being direct about. Nothing here is required, nothing here is assessed, and reading all of it confers no advantage on anyone.
This is the body of practice behind the first of the eight domains NBOP publishes. It is free, it is complete, and it is not preparation for anything.
The order matters. The diagnostic comes first because the rest of the course is a set of answers, and answers are hard to hear before you have the question in your own words. Take it, read what it says back to you, then work through the lessons that address what it found. Most operators need three or four of the fifteen.
Every lesson teaches one instrument. Not an idea, an instrument: something you can do this week and afterwards be able to tell whether it worked. If a lesson leaves you agreeing with it and unable to act on it, the lesson has failed and you should say so.
One thing worth being direct about. Nothing here is required, nothing here is assessed, and reading all of it confers no advantage on anyone. Certification is a separate question and it is decided elsewhere, by people who did not write this.
Two things worth doing, neither of which costs anything
